kids of the future.

what a week, i guess this top all my weeks of july that i have to endured. on one day i had fun playing with underprivileged kids whose parents cannot afford or bothered with sending them to school and on another day i have to endure shitty sms from a colleague of mine (ill post the entire conversation in my next post).

it was on thursday; wasn't a busy day at work because it wasn't a clinic day. so patient turn out was thought to be less which happens to be true. so all 3 of us officers plus my supervisor left for a seminar on Common Psychiatric Disorders. I think all 3 of us had at least ONE mentioned. hehe. and left the department to another officer; and as expected she underperformed as usual. we really don't know what to do with her anymore. she's 3 years my senior and yet worked like one of the younger juniors. thoughtless and irresponsible sometimes we worry leaving anything to her. patient's life are at stake. ok, perhaps im going over board with that but hey things might happen if your not careful.

anwyayyyy ..

after the seminar i had to rush to Chow Kit, didn't know the exact way myself so just parked at Pekeliling (thank God there was a parking), then took the Monorail, got down at Chow Kit Station, got lost for 15mins due to bad directions given by Mercy Staff. hehe kak hayat you owe me OK.. and when i finally got there i was drenched and sweaty.

but the sight of kids made those tiring feeling goes away, plus i was looking forward to seeing someone there. he he .. yay she was there. :P .. a few fleeting moments of her is like seeing the moon for the first time.

right, as i was saying.. we had a mobile clinic going on at the Nur Salam Center for Kids. Its at Jalan Chow Kit, just above Mayfirst Shop.its a 2 storey building with the 1st for office and classes i think and the 2nd floor for bunkbeds and wide open studio for activities. someone donated some double beds and painted the area. it looks really nice.

the kids ranges from infants to teenagers, we did a moderate check up by a team of doctors, nurses, pharmacists (me) and volunteers. the kids was really curious about the stuff that was going on especially since i was giving ear drops to some of them. they had bad ear wax problems (due to the lack of care by parents; if they had any). and the feeling was warm and cozy as i laid each of them down on the pillow and watched their faces squirm as the ear drops slide into their nasty waxy ears. he he... can't wait to go for next month clinic.

the teenage girls kept asking me about menstrual cycles and pregnancy and the like. it bothers me a bit since under the environment they are prone to such tendencies. there was an article by Dina Zaman on thursday about the Chow Kit kids. i do agree with what she was saying and even though it will push illegal adoption underground i do agree with KDN Mr.Syed Hamid decisions to stop foster parents from putting their names in the registration of the adopted child instead of the real fathers. the implication if not doing so will be far greater unimagined socially.

some of them at the age of 14 doesn't go to school and they depend much on the centre for social support. so friends if any of u have time and means to help, this is the time to do so. this children are our children, if no one helps them WHO WILL?

Lets get together to improve someone's life
