Key Performace Index of ADUN Selangor should be how fast they respond to comments/inquiries/suggestion from the general public.

so today I emailed YB Abd Shukor; ADUN Kuang and i'm waiting for his response.

this is what i wrote to him:

salam YB,

I am not really sure under whose area is Hospital Sg.Buloh but since Kuang
is the nearest area, I chose you.

I was wondering whether it is possible for you to sent a representative or
yourself here at the hospital for a weekly / monthly session with patients that have problems other than medical such as socially or financially. It would be very helpful to me, in my attempt to alleviate social suffering and making methadone maintanance therapy work. as you know, Hospital Sg.Buloh is one of the main centre in Selangor in providing methadone maintainance treatment for those who are suffering from heroin addiction. but methadone alone cannot help these patients of mine to overcome their heroin addiction. some of them turn to drugs
because of social suffering; lack of education, lack of employment and the general surrounding. most are under-educated with educations up to standard 6, thus giving way for some unscrupulous men to take adventage of them.

but since the inception of the program here at the hospital, there have been many changes in behavioural sense in regards to the patients. i for one notice the changes in themself when they are not dependant on heroin any more. though that is part of the program, counselling and social acceptance is another. most are employed but there are those who arent. and its these small group of unemployed patients that worries me. they are prone to living almost on the street with no shelter and no food to eat; and to make it worse some of them have families.

there has been cases where children of my patient were given condensed milk or coffee for milk as they cannot afford the powdered milk.

therefore i turn to you Dear YB as chosen representative of the people
of Selangor to help me help them.

follow ups:

this evening i called up the office of ADUN KUANG, and the staff inform me that problems in regards to the area im working in will be best handled by ADUN PAYAR JARAS.

so apa lagi, ring a ding ding office of ADUN Payar Jaras, Ir.Datok Bushro and spoken to Kak Non regarding my pt's problem. unfortunately theres not much help she can do and she advised 'Dato' will try to help those pengundi from his area'. i asked 'what about those who are not from the area?' she advised to seek the ADUN from his respective area.

hurm. Bullshit can or not? i don't think only "pengundi" paya jaras yg bayar gaji Dato' tiap-tiap bulan right? it comes from the state coffers of which the whole population of Selangor contributed in including those 'not from the area of paya jaras'. 10k people didn't vote for Dato Buhsro; maka that doesn't mean Dato' must not help them as well. right?

so then i asked whether Dato can do anything about kebajikan of my pesakit-pesakit? the staff stated that patients can walk into the office of Dato and they will provide help the best they can. this sound promising.

then i started to think about jabatan kebajikan masyarat negeri selangor, so googled up Kerajaan Negeri Selangor website's and i gave them a ring which led me to mr.Rusli who was kind enough to assist me in my predicament. i asked him whether the state government provides shelter and care to HIV/AIDS patients who are apparently have no where to go as both family and society shunts them? he said no. and i asked him again whether jabatan kebajikan provides such help? he said no again.

alamak how can like this i told him. whats going to happen to them?

he advised me to seek NGO's help and i told him NO. hehehe.. i told him i want the government's help. what can the state government provide for these people? these are malaysian for god sakes! (ok .. exagerate abit)..

can't the state government provides a centre funded by the State so that these people can have a place to go to when they can't go anywhere else??

well, you can write a letter and suggest to the Director of the Jabatan Kebajikan? he told me.

okayyyy.. perhaps ill do that..... but tomorow ill have a chat with the pegawai kebajikan at my hospital and see what he says.
