lets talk about CSR, corporate social responsibility.
it has been played so many times in recent weeks in the newspaper as its the only excuse Permodalan Negeri Selangor Bhd (PNSB) has given for its excessive expenditures on Mak Datins expensive trips and shopping spree.
read here:
PNSB supported Balkis' 'repentance programme' in Cambodia
Datin clearly evaded answering questions when she was asked "Why did the company agreed to sponsor a programme in Cambodia. Is there a lack of poor in this country that you have to go all the way to Cambodia to help?" (a patient of mine survives on RM850/month, with a sick mom to support and that if the company does not cut his wage inappropriately. Another patient ; husband and wife went hungry for 3 days cos they didn't have any money to buy rice). Demn it. i wish they sponsor my methadone rehab program by employing my patients... hu hu hu.
Y.Bhg Datin Hajjah Khairiyah Bt. Abu Hassan (hajjah tuhhh .. fuyohhh.)
Chief Exec. (pic taken from PNSB website)
she must be living in the Kay Ell dream (titles comes with easy money).
i wondered what does CSR means apart from company (state owned = property of the people of selangor) lavishing throwing money wherever and whenever and how ever much they liked?
i googled lah,
corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), also known as corporate responsibility, corporate citizenship, responsible business and corporate social opportunity[1] is a form of corporate self-regulation integrated into a business model. blah blah blah blah blah ........CSR is the deliberate inclusion of public interest into corporate decision-making, and the honoring of a triple bottom line: People, Planet, Profit.
it means the money if for the people, the planet and profits.
so spending thousands of ringgit on a visit to Disneyland is for the people, the planet and obviously profits. don't you see the connection?
i think i do.. errr...
excerpts from the article that makes you want to bang your head on the wall, some people just don't have common sense:
Khairiyah was also grilled about a Balkis "humanitarian" and "financial support" programme in Bukit Tinggi in Indonesia which objective was ostensibly to "learn about the lifestyle and the Malay archipelago in Indonesia". (Datin Zahara got the wrong island kot, JAVA is on the other side pleez, i think she wanted to be in depth of her hubby's culture).
Haniza: "What was the RM16,000 PNSB contributed for? Was there a calamity for humanitarian funds to be paid out?"
Khairiyah: The RM16,000 was to pay for a RM5,000 dinner for 50 pax (RM5000/50=RM100 each. makan apa Mak Datins? Telor Emas?) , a RM5,000 lunch for 50 pax (RM5000/50=Rm10o each, melantak betol korang yer Datins-Datins.) while the remaining RM11,000 was for contingency.
RM100 each for a dinner / lunch in Indonesia!? scratch your head people. wouldn't it be more humanitarian if they were to give poor families RM100 each? but i guess perot tong Datins-Datins would be a better humanitarian activity. There are Myamar Refugees (though Malaysia DOES NOT RECOGNISE them) living in squalid conditions here, of which RM100 / day could help them very much. But like I said, the Datins-Datins view of helping others is to 'HELP' them right across the sea while dining out on RM100 per day meals.
